12/4/24-Volume 5
Notes from the Principal-Kate Diaz:
Middle of the year testing is this coming week. Please make sure that students attend school, unless sick, for this important benchmark check.
This week students will have a chance to shop at the holiday sale. They should have come to you to ask for extra jobs or chores to make the money for the sale! Ask them about it if they have not told you already.
From the Desk of Martha:
Thank you! Thank You! Thank you!
This year’s Food Drive was a huge success! We were able to help 28 of our own Atalaya families this year. Thank you so much for all of your donations, I couldn’t have done it without you!
Atalaya Giving Tree:
In the Spirit of this beautiful holiday season. We would like to once again help our own Atalaya families in need. Every year we collect toys to give to our students and their siblings to help make their holiday a little brighter!
This year we are in need of about 55 toys. Ages range from 6 months to 13 years old. If you can and would like to help, you may drop off an unwrapped toy for boy or girl to the front office before Tuesday, December 17, 2024. If you have questions about what ages are needed most, please call me at 505-467-4403 or email me at: mnarvaiz@sfps.k12.nm.us
Thank you so much for making Atalaya such a beautiful community!
Attendance-Vicente Avila-Miramontes:
As we head into the winter break season, continue to make attendance priority: Missing 10 percent of the school (or just 2 days every month) negatively affects a student’s academic performance. This two days per month is known as chronic absenteeism.
