Measles:

A SFPS Remind message was sent on February 14 regarding the recent measles cases in the Southern part of New Mexico. If you did not receive it, please read the message in full here: Measles Information. The initial symptoms of measles can include fever, congestion, red eyes, spots in the mouth, cough, and a rash. If your student develops these symptoms, especially after travel to west Texas or southeastern NM, please keep him/her home and contact your medical provider.

Medication Reminder:

The SFPS medication policy is described on the district website: Medications at School. Elementary school students may not carry medications on their own - medications should be kept in the nurse’s office with required paperwork completed. This applies to both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including medicated cough drops! (There are exceptions to carrying emergency medication, but additional paperwork will be needed.) Please contact the nurse’s office regarding any medication your child may need while at school. Thank you for your help!
