StoryBook Pumpkin contest
My Favorite Book Character
The Atalaya Library is excited to announce the Storybook Pumpkin Patch contest, and we invite your participation! We encourage you to decorate a pumpkin to resemble one of your favorite book characters and bring it to the library to be displayed in our Storybook Pumpkin Patch.
Please Note: No Carved or Cut Fresh Pumpkins Will Be Accepted
Instructions for Participation:
Reflect on your favorite book and design your pumpkin based on a character from that story.
You may choose to purchase a craft or fresh pumpkin, with craft pumpkins being the preferred option for longevity as a future decoration.
Gather your decorating supplies; acrylic paints are highly recommended, as watercolors tend to run. Feel free to enhance your pumpkin with additional materials such as yarn, buttons, or wiggly eyes.
If you opt for a fresh pumpkin, please ensure that it is decorated without any carving, cutting, or poking holes.
Complete the entry form located on the back and submit it along with your pumpkin.
Please bring your pumpkin and the entry form to the Storybook Pumpkin Patch (your Library!) between October 20th and October 28th. The pumpkins will be evaluated by our staff on October 29th, with winners announced on Thursday, October 30th.
All Storybook Pumpkins can be taken home following the end of the school day on October 31st or at the end of the Fall Festival. If your child requires assistance transporting their pumpkin, please make the necessary arrangements.
Participation is entirely voluntary. Gift certificates will be given to the winners!
Family members are welcome to assist in the decorating process. We encourage creativity and fun in bringing your storybook character to life!
